Thank you, Maria. I will take a look at this more closely as soon as I can. But as you may know, I already published a piece on the all-cause data, in which I suggested that the CDC could in fact be fudging those numbers. Specifically, I think it is possible the 2020 data were inflated. So, I would not be at all surprised to hear that they've done it again. And yes, I could see them using an algorithm to make the adjustments. They are absolutely that corrupt.
Interesting that you mention this. There was an article written in early 2021 where the author actually suggested exactly this had occurred. The author had been tracking all cause mortality for months and noticed hardly any elevation but then suddenly an update happened in early 2021 with more than 400k deaths added to the total.
Maybe they just legitimately screw up from time to time, but how hard is it to run a quick check on your total? You know about what it should be, so just do a quick "sum all" or a two second pivot table in Excel, for heaven's sake! But these are gov't workers, after all...
Naomi Wolf mentions two senators have filed a grand jury petition against the CDC for wilful misconduct in their handling of the data which seems to suggest inflating covid deaths. If the CDC wanted to encourage as many as possible to get vaccinate,d then exaggerating covid deaths in 2020 would be a tactic. Here are clips discussing the liberal counting of covid cases:
I believe it was in the same article I previously referred to that mentioned the CDC had outsourced the mortality reporting to a third party as they were swamped due to the pandemic. It's interesting that in this clip I linked to Naomi Wolf mentions CDC contracting out some of the handling of the data of cases etc.. Plausible deniability comes to mind.
Yes, I'd like to go in and collect some state or county-level stats and see how they compare to the CDC's state-level all-cause. They've been fudging the climate data for years, so why not mortality, right?
Maria, voting. These many dead are voters who can be counted on by the left for generations to come. So many dead people voted in the last election in particular, it's time-honored corruption even pushed JFK over the top. You can be sure if this administration is covering up deaths from these shots, that's mostly democrat voters. The other deaths can work in their favor as well this November. A two-fer!
I understand your frustration, but I worry that making this about democrats and republicans undermines the critical point in Maria’s post — namely that a government agency is revising their reported deaths downward without explanation. Politics are a tool used to distract half the population from this apparent fraud.
I have to agree with you on this point. I've seen painfully few on either side of the aisle step up to speak FOR the people on any of this. I'll give Ron Johnson big ups for being a loud voice on our behalf, even if, as a solo speaker, there's not much he can do.
Are you using "Predicted" or "Unweighted" CDC all-cause deaths? They are both listed in the data file, and "Predicted" can be revised downward. The prediction is an attempt to make up for state-reporting lags, but can overcompensate. That doesn't mean the CDC is being nefarious with that data.
I used what they called "weighted deaths", which I know can be changed, but 9%? That's outrageous! In a country of 330 million people, you just don't get a 9% all-downward correction, when you're checking numbers 6 weeks out.
Interesting. The all cause mortality data from 2020 was riddled with issues. Initially, the all cause mortality in 2020 was lower than 2019 (I believe it was first listed as ~2.8 million while 2019 was 2.9 million) but then the CDC said that the data did not include January (why would it not have?) and there were other corrections needed so the number went up to around 3.3 million.
There was an article written in early 2021, where the writer had been following all cause mortality for months and thought the final number may have been fudged. I think the article mentioned that the CDC has contracted out the mortality figures for the pandemic to a third party so the CDC is not technically responsible. I wish I could find the article so you could contact the author. There was an article from Denis Rancourt about mortality so he might know something about possible issues with the 2020 figures.
Not at all! Thank you for the heads up on Mary Pat. I will go over to her Substack straightaway. Smart is a relative word; I am humbled daily by the brilliant minds that inhabit this place. 😌😌

Hey Darby, I'm subscribing to so many Substacks now, I don't always see everything, and it looks like I missed that one. For anyone who wants to read Darby's sharp insights on this topic, here it is: https://darbyshaw.substack.com/p/what-wheres-the-excess-mortality/comment/4403047?r=2mky2
And I agree, we can clearly no longer trust this agency as far as we can throw it!
I'm looking at the CDC data right now, and it seems they re-shuffled the deck quite a bit in just the last month.
I'm afraid we may never be able to get any clear answers from the CDC. We may have to look elsewhere for our answers.
If these agencies can't be trusted to do their jobs, they need to be shuttered.

I think there was more to it than this. Watch this clip at around 24 minutes in.

For data in general it looks like the powers that be have moved from ignoring the data to "misinterpreting" the data to falsifying the data.
State and local data is harder to falsify at least for now.

There seems to be a lot of fudging…err…’correcting’ of numbers lately 🤓
How amazing to find a read in which I chortle and belly laugh as I read about covid...nice work with the numbers, too! Subscribed:)
Isn't it amazing how wonderful life becomes when you first learn to understand statistics?
Interesting, thanks! I'll see if I can see similar in the UK data

Thanks. I love you! With your vigilance, I feel you will be part of the 500 million survivors and will be able to protect your children too.
Whoa!
